Coach Alex Smyth
Meet Coach Alex, who resides in Panama City, Florida.
Alex started in endurance sports at a very young age and he has not looked back. He began competing in cross country at the age of eight years old and continued that passion all the way through to the collegiate ranks, helping Florida State University to their first ever ACC Cross Country Championship and second place finish at the NCAA Championships. In 2012, Alex switched his focus from solely running to triathlons and duathlons. Most recently, Alex traveled to Ontario, Canada to compete for a spot on the Canadian Duathlon Team -- an opportunity available thanks to his dual citizenship.
Alex has the street smarts and the book smarts to help athletes of all levels succeed. Alex earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science, with a minor in Health Sciences, from Eastern Washington University, as well as a Masters of Science in Sport Management from Florida State University. Alex is an Ironman Certified Triathlon coach, Level I, a USA Track & Field Coach, and a Florida State University Certified Coach.
Alex aids athletes interested in running, triathlon, and duathlon. Alex loves helping athletes achieve their goals and find a passion for their sport.
